Cappadocia Cave Suites: Why choose Cave hotels over Regular hotels..?
Updated: Nov 16, 2019
There is no dearth of accommodation to suit all budgets in Cappadocia, but if you truly want to absorb the authentic Turkish culture, consider booking a cave hotel!
Staying in a cave hotel can be a little pricey but is a whole new ball game altogether and it should totally be on your bucket list. It brings you closer to history and makes you wonder how locals lived in caves thousands of years ago. Cappadocia is honeycombed with so many cave hotels offering everything that you can think of and even more!
“Almost all these cave hotels are very well equipped with all the modern day conveniences. From the Hammams (Turkish bath) to fast speed internet (this came as a surprise though) to Modern bathrooms to beautifully done interiors, Cave Hotels have it all. ”
Trust me, there is no better feeling than watching the hot air balloons float by as you enjoy a cup of hot Turkish tea on your balcony. Sounds exhilarating, No.?
I clearly remember how Sid & I were in awe of the intricate stone work and quaint details in every corner. It felt cozy and warm, romantic and exotic, all the things we were hoping for!
Things you need to keep in mind before booking a cave hotel :
1) Try booking a hotel that includes breakfast!
Trust me, you won't regret, for the spread is extensive with over 20 items including big
junks of honeycomb, cheeses, olives, meats, eggs, jams, breads, fruits, milk, cereals,
cakes, cookies, tea, coffee, juices and the list goes on and on..!
2) Always read the reviews before booking an accommodation. It always helps you feel more
confident in your travel decisions and helps you have a better trip.
3) Always look for 1 or more windows when booking a cave hotel. It can get
uncomfortable in those thick walled cave rooms, if you are claustrophobic.
4) Always ask for a room that gets sunlight (direct/indirect).
5) Try booking a room in Goreme as it's centrally located and you can easily walk around
some of the valleys. Also, when you are in Goreme, you are always surrounded by the
scenery you have come to see!
